The Timeless Creed of the Catholic Church: As Expressed by Sacred Scripture, Church Councils, Roman Pontiffs, Fathers of the Church, and Doctors of the Church & Accompanied by Sacred Art, Church History and Natural Wonders

Mark Merlino (Author)

(Editor)

The Timeless Creed of the Catholic Church is intended to be read meditatively. It is a written and visual presentation of what Catholics believe with quotations taken from Sacred Scripture, Ecumenical councils, Papal writings, and the writings of the Fathers and Doctors of the Church. Alongside these quotations, there are over one hundred complimentary colour images of Sacred Art, Church History and Natural Wonders have been placed to visually embody the beliefs described. By exploring the timeless and living faith of the Church, I have sought the Church's answer to the question, 'What does the Creed mean?'

-- Nihil Obstat: Rev. Rodney Nootebos
-- Imprimatur: Most Rev. J. Michael Miller, CSB Archbishop of Vancouver

"This book is a good resource containing quotes from Councils, Popes, Fathers and Doctors of the Church and the Sacred Scriptures. It would be a very good tool for meditation, [and] resource for catechists..."

-- Rev. Rodney Nootebos, S.T.L. Archdiocese of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

"I commend the intention and mode of delivery... We must always have Revelation, not ourselves or our own subjective understandings of the world, as the focus of our thought and discourse. So the Creed is the natural departure point for devotion and meditation."

-- Rev. Cadoc Leighton, O.Praem., Ph.D. Diocese of Plymouth, Cornwall, United Kingdom

Eight Year old Elena Merlino has vividly illustrated twelve of Our Lord's parables in this beautiful devotional children's picture book, which is intended to inspire readers of all ages. These parables were selected from the more than forty parables found in the Gospels and are arranged according to their position in salvation history.

"I pray that this book will touch the minds and hearts of all who read it and contemplate Elena's artistic works. Always remember that sacred art speaks to our hearts and souls."
-- Fr. Robert Cross, Diocese of Geraldton, Western Australia

It gives me great pleasure to recommend this version of Our Lord's parables. Elena has succeeded in drawing some very effective and powerful depictions of these foundational gospel instructions. May this book inspire many to learn once again the lessons of slavation Jesus gave in these parables."
-- Fr. Patrick Tepoorten, Archdiocese of Vancouver, British Columbia
